In March 2010, Maria Anna Potocka held a significant interview with Wilhelm Brasse, which resulted in the creation of a compelling book that chronicles the life of Brasse as a prisoner and chief photographer at Auschwitz. This publication also includes a film featuring selected excerpts from the interview. Renowned historian Teresa Wontor-Cichy of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum provides an insightful introduction to the book. Richly adorned with photographs, the book draws from Wilhelm Brasse’s personal collection, as well as the Photographic Archives of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Yad Vashem, offering a poignant visual record.
