Battleship USS Iowa - Draminski Stefan - książka
Producent: Osprey Publishing
USS Iowa (BB-61) was the flagship of one of the most celebrated classes of battleships in US Navy history. In 1944, it joined the Pacific Fleet and engaged in its first combat during the Marshall Islands campaign, marking its combat debut by sinking the enemy vessel Katori. The Iowa participated in crucial Pacific War operations, such as the battles of the Philippine Sea and Leyte Gulf. As the war drew to a close, it spent several months attacking the Japanese Home Islands until Japan's surrender in August 1945. Following its service in the Korean War, the Iowa was taken out of commission in 1958, only to be briefly reactivated in the 1980s under President Reagan's 600-Ship Navy Plan. Its final decommissioning occurred in 1990, and today, the Iowa serves as a museum ship in Los Angeles. The latest installment in the Anatomy of the Ship series features contemporary photographs, detailed ship plans, and hundreds of high-quality 3D visuals that vividly depict every aspect of this iconic battleship.
