We are pleased to unveil this year’s edition under a newly adopted title, Art of Asia Journal. This change signifies a natural progression in the identity and focus of our publication. Previously known as Art of the Orient, the former name served its purpose for many years. However, we felt it was time to embrace a name that more accurately represents the expansive nature of our content and aligns with the modern context of engaging with Asian art and culture. While "Orient" has been used in the past, it is becoming increasingly regarded as outdated, and we aimed to select a title that communicates clarity and inclusivity to today’s global audience. The Art of Asia Journal underscores our ongoing commitment to exploring, appreciating, and sharing the rich tapestry of Asian art across various eras and styles, from the traditional to the contemporary. Furthermore, this new title sets our publication apart from others in the field, highlighting its scholarly yet approachable annual format.
